2 pedestrians injured, driver arrested for DUI in crash near Las Vegas Strip

Two pedestrians were seriously injured and a man was arrested for driving under the influence after a three-vehicle crash Sunday night near the Strip, according to Las Vegas police. The impact forced the Chrysler into the crosswalk, striking the pedestrians, a 64-year-old woman and a 67-year-old man. The crash happened about 9:20 p.m. at a red light on Harmon Avenue, east of Koval Lane. The driver of the GMC, 35-year-old Guadalupe Derek Carbajal, failed field sobriety tests and was arrested for DUI resulting in substantial bodily harm, police said. The 38-year-old driver of the Chrysler also was taken to Sunrise with injuries, police said.
