Police: Drugs, speed are factors in Saturday night crash that left 1 dead

North Las Vegas police responded about 7:30 p.m. to a crash at Alexander Road and Commerce Street involving a 4-door sedan and a 4-door SUV. Preliminary investigation shows that the SUV was traveling southbound on Commerce when it struck the sedan that was traveling eastbound on Alexander. The 28-year-old driver of the SUV was taken to University Medical Center in critical, but stable condition, police said. The 62-year-old woman who was driving the sedan was unconscious when police arrived. She was transported to UMC where she was pronounced dead.
Police say that drugs, alcohol, and speed are to blame for an accident that claimed the life of a 62-year-old woman in North Las Vegas.
