2 BLM firefighters killed, 1 hurt in crash on Nevada highway

BLM spokesman Stephen Clutter says the three were returning to Winnemucca from duty in the Denio area when the crash happened Sunday evening on State Route 140.

UPDATE: Reno procession today for bodies of BLM firefighters

Nevada Highway Patrol and local agencies will form a procession ending at the corner of East Second Street and Kirman Avenue. A flag has been raised in the middle of the road. Traffic could still pass as of 11 a.m., but will be interrupted during the procession.

Family members were planning funerals and bureau officials are arranging a memorial service in Winnemucca for 27-year-old Jacob O'Malley and 22-year-old Will Hawkins.  

Services set for 2 BLM firefighters killed in Northern Nevada crash

In a statement, the bureau said the memorials will run 1 to 4 p.m. Tuesday at the Winnemucca Events Complex Exhibit Hall.
