Dump truck driver charged in woman's death goes on trial

Prosecutors charged Witty with negligent homicide in the crash. “The defendant, Kyle Witty, ran a red light. Prosecutors said Witty ran a red light and crashed his 30-ton dump truck filled with boulders into the side of a minivan, killing 60-year old Elizabeth McQuinn. Monday afternoon, the jury heard from a handful of witnesses who saw and heard the impact. Last year, Kyle Witty, 45, was driving his dump truck in Merrimack, approaching the intersection of Route 101A and Continental Boulevard. The jury also heard from police officers who said witty was very emotional at the scene.

Dump truck driver found not guilty in fatal crash

A dump truck driver was found not guilty Wednesday of negligent homicide in the death of a woman in a 2014 crash. Kyle Witty, 45, was driving his truck in Merrimack when it crashed into a minivan. Elizabeth McQuinn, 60, was killed. Prosecutors accused him of running a red light at the intersection of Route 101A. Defense attorneys blamed trees that were blocking Witty's view of the lights and said the trees were cut down two weeks after the crash. The jury deliberated for about an hour before finding Witty not guilty.

Police release identity of Merrimack crash victim

Merrimack police said the SUV was trying to turn left to travel west on Route 101A when it collided with the truck, which was traveling east on Route 101A around 6:30 a.m.

Police have released the identity of the woman killed in a crash in Merrimack on Wednesday.

Elizabeth McQuinn, 60, of Nashua, was killed Wednesday morning when her SUV collided with a dump truck on Route 101A in Merrimack.

Merrimack police said the SUV was trying to turn left to travel west on Route 101A when it collided with the truck, which was traveling east on Route 101A around 6:30 a.m.

McQuinn was pronounced dead at the scene.

Some lane restrictions were in place as investigators worked to reconstruct the accident, but the road was completely open shortly before 1 p.m.
