Good Samaritan recounts trying to help driver killed in Route 287 crash

Several good Samaritans pulled over on Route 287 Tuesday afternoon hoping to render aid to another driver who ultimately died following a serious car crash, one witness said.

Amgad Mikhael was driving his SUV on Route 287 when he crashed into the back of a semi-trailer that was parked on the shoulder of the road. He was declared dead at the scene. Authorities do not believe drugs or alcohol were involved in the crash, though the wet and rainy conditions might have played a role. No one else was injured. Two lanes on Route 287 were closed for about three hours that evening.
