The Mercados and Bulatowicz, all of whom were said to be outside the truck when they were hit by the tractor-trailer, worked for Concrete on Demand of Oakland, New Jersey.

Victims identified in deadly crash on Route 287 in Mahwah

MAHWAH - A father and son are among three killed in a fiery crash on 287 in Mahwah Tuesday.

State police say a tractor-trailer carrying a load of bricks struck the side of a disabled cement truck that was being repaired in the right shoulder. State Police Capt. Stephen Jones says two repair workers and the cement truck driver with Concrete on Demand in Oakland were standing near the disabled vehicle and were hit.

The cement truck driver was identified as 58-year-old Harry Bulatowicz. Santiago Mercado, 42, and his 22-year old son, also named Santiago, were all killed in the accident.

Police said the tractor-trailer also struck a Toyota Avalon.

Jones says the tractor-trailer driver and a husband and wife who were in the Toyota were able to escape with minor injuries before both vehicles became engulfed in flames.

Police have not said whether the driver of the tractor-trailer will face charges.
