Crudup and his girlfriend began arguing as they pulled into a Hess station on Route 37 after midnight, Toms River police said.

Crudup is described by police as a black male, 5’10”, and weighing approximately 250 pounds. He has brown eyes and very short black hair. He is wanted on attempted murder as well as numerous motor vehicle violations with bail set at $500,000.
James Crudup was arrested after an incident at a gas station on Route 37, where he and his girlfriend where having an argument when he threw her to the ground and choked her. The woman, who is 35 years old, attempted to run away but Crudup got in his SUV and ran over her. He ran over her a total of three times before driving away. The woman has been treated for injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening. Crudup's bail is set at $500,000 for attempted murder.
