At 2:47 a.m., a 2013 Chrysler traveling south on Broadway lost control and hit a tree, the release said. After hitting the tree, the car began to roll, then hit a utility pole and a building, the release said. The male driver died at the scene and the passenger was taken to the hospital with a leg injury. Police said the driver may have been intoxicated.
