Wrestling champ, 9, killed in accident

Coaches, family members and teammates all say Kaleb “Georgie” Bindel was an inspiration to others on and off the mat. Kaleb, known to friends and family as “Georgie Box,” was a wrestling champion at age nine, representing the Carlsbad Cavemen.

Funeral services for Kaleb will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday (Jan. 28) at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Dan Boyd officiating. Interment will follow at the Box Family Cemetery on North Canal Street.

Georgie attended school at Sunset Elementary where he was currently a 3rd grader in Ms. Arnwine’s class. Kaleb was an excellent student with straight A’s all year and recently received the character counts award for most Caring student in his class.
