Francisco said the initial investigation showed that Berkman, 44, was driving a 2004 Dodge Ram south on US 285 when “for unknown reasons” his car crossed over the center striped line and into the opposing lane of traffic, sideswiping a 1995 Kenworth commercial motor vehicle.
