For unknown reasons, the Ford merged into the right lane and struck the CMV. After the collision, the Ford left the roadway and struck a guardrail.

Following the collision, the Ford left the interstate and struck a guardrail, police said. Olivas, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced deceased on the scene.
