State Police are investigating a Tuesday morning crash that left one person dead inside a vehicle submerged in the Delaware River.
NJ man, 37, killed in Delaware Co. crash
State police said Maikisch exited Route 17 westbound at Exit 90 at a high rate of speed. His vehicle went through a T-intersection at the end of the ramp and crossed Harvard Road, striking a guide rail and several trees.
Stephen J. Maikisch III was driving his car at a high rate of speed at around 5:38 a.m. on Route 17 when he exited at Exit 90, went through a t-intersection and left the roadway.The vehicle traveled for about 200 feet before landing upright in the Delaware River. Maikisch was found dead in the car. The incident is still under investigation.
