Ellen Volpe, 45, dead in multi-vehicle wreck on I-90 in Lancaster, New York

Around 9:44 a.m., Troopers responded to the Lancaster incident. The left westbound lane of the I-90 is blocked off in the area near Exits 48A (Pembroke) and 49 (Depew).

Around 9:45 a.m. Thursday, a westbound 2016 Freightliner box truck hit the rear of a 2009 Honda driven by Volpe, according to police. 

We're told her passion was working with kids. Michele Hannagan, of Jordan Health, tells us she went back to school to get her doctorate so could teach and have people follow in her footsteps.
