One person died and about six were taken to hospitals with minor injuries after a head-on collision between a bus and a car in Orange County Friday, authorities say.

Tuxedo police Lt. John Norton said Jackson was northbound in a 2005 Honda on Route 17, about three-tenths of a mile south of the Duck Cedar Plaza and about a mile south of the intersection with Route 17A. Jackson was in the right lane, which still had snow and ice on the surface from Thursday's storm.
