Woman charged with DWI after fatal three-car crash on Long Island

A Mastic woman has been arrested and charged with DWI after a three-car crash on Long Island killed a 35-year-old man early Sunday, police said.

At around 1:20 a.m. Sunday, Orlando Heinecker, 35, was driving on the Montauk Highway when he lost control of his 1997 Chevy Suburban and struck two vehicles that were westbound, a 2007 Jeep and a 2014 Ford Focus. Heinecker was ejected from his vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene. The Jeep driver, Kimberly Michiels, 35, was treated for minor injuries at Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center before being charged with DWI. Her passenger, Andrea Smith, 42, and the driver of the Ford Focus, Sarah Skidmore, 29, were both treated and released from Brookhaven Memorial Hospital.
