Hit-Run Driver Kills Cyclist Before Hitting Car Head-On in Harlem, Running Away: NYPD

Police said that the Mercedes was seen by state court officers running a red light at 138th Street and Bruckner Boulevard before the fatal hit-and-run. It continued over the Third Avenue Bridge after running the light.
Accoring to the NYPD, a 2002 Mercedes sedan with Florida plates was westbound on East 129th Street at about 11:30 p.m. Tuesday when it struck several construction barriers and rear-ended a bicyclist, a 42-year-old man. The Mercedes fled after hitting the cyclist, turning left onto Madison Avenue and driving against traffic before turning right onto East 128th Street, again driving the wrong way, where it slammed into a Volkswagen sedan. At this point the driver of the Mercedes and two passengers ran from the car. No one in the Volkswagen was injured, but the bicyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. Check back for updates on this developing story.
