Man Hit by Car While Chasing Down Alleged Drunk Driver on Long Island: Police

Jonathan Moore, 26, allegedly ran from a three-car pileup in the express lanes of the Long Island Expressway in Holtsville just before midnight, according to the Suffolk County Police Department. A man who was driving saw Moore fleeing the scene and chased after him, police say. The two ran across the highway and crossed a service road. That's when a vehicle hit the man chasing Moore, seriously injuring his leg. Police later tracked down Moore and arrested him. He is charged with leaving the scene of an accident, driving while intoxicated and other crimes.
