Two cops were hospitalized Tuesday after their cruiser smashed into another car on a snow-swept Inwood street, officials said.
The driver lost control of the cruiser about 10:30 a.m. as it neared the corner of Wadsworth Ave. and W. 183rd St., officials said.
Responding firefighters had to use a hydraulic machine known as the "jaws of life" to rip open the doors and free the two officers, an FDNY source said.
Upon impact one cop suffered a serious, but not life-threatening injury, officials said. The second officer had minor injuries.
Paramedics rushed both men to area hospitals for treatment.
