N.J. golf pro killed, driver ticketed in NYC crash

Accident Victim Identified as NJ Golf Instructor

The SUV driver, whom police haven't identified, remained at the accident scene and was ticketed for the license violation.

According to news reports, the driver was affiliated with the car-hiring company, Uber; and in addition to his affiliation with Uber, he also had a commercial license from the New York Taxi and Limousine Commission.

Wesley Mensing of Scotch Plains and an as-yet unnamed woman were crossing a street Saturday evening on the Upper East Side of Manhattan when a Mercedes-Benz SUV hit the two pedestrians. The woman, 30, is hospitalized in stable condition. The SUV driver, 45, received an unlicensed-driving ticket.
