1 dead, another seriously injured after Route 22 accident in Bridgewater, police say

The accident remains under investigation by the department's traffic safety bureau. Police are asking any witnesses of the crash to contact John Kennedy, a traffic safety officer, at 908-722-4111 ext. 4162.

Victim identified in fatal crash on Route 22 in Bridgewater

Candice Gerwer, the driver's sister, was taken to Robert Wood Johnson Hospital Somerset, where she was pronounced dead, police said.
The crash happened on Route 22 West, near North Adamsville Road, shortly before 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 1, when the driver, a 30-year-old Somerville man, lost control of his 2003 Ford Mustang while changing lanes, spun out, and struck a utility pole. The driver was ejected from the car, and the man's passenger, a 34-year-old woman, was taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in Somerset where she was pronounced dead. The driver was transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick where he was treated for serious injuries.
