Triple Fatal Accident on NYS Route 481
The accident is reportedly the result of one vehicle traveling northbound in the southbound lane resulting in a head on collision involving three vehicles.
The accident was fatal for the driver of one vehicle as well as a front passenger and rear passenger of a separate vehicle.

The driver going north in the southbound lanes was killed and two people in an oncoming vehicle also died, troopers said. The elderly driver had apparently been going the wrong way since Cicero, a witness said.

Bruce R. Drury, 68, of 477 James St., Syracuse, was driving a 2004 Toyota Corolla the wrong way on state Route 481 South about 11 a.m. Monday when he crashed into two vehicles, killing himself and two people in one of the other vehicles, state police said in a news release.

A couple months ago, Schmidtka said, Drury mentioned flashbacks from his time in the military were keeping him from sleeping. Drury was struggling to get sleep medication from the Syracuse VA Medical Center, Schmidtka said.
