CPH doctor identified as victim in South Colton accident

Dr. Samach, whose specialty was obstetrics and gynecology, joined the hospital’s medical staff in March, according to a news release issued by the hospital at the time.

He held an appointment as a clinical instructor within the Harvard University School of Medicine’s Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and also held appointments to the medical staffs of the Cleveland Clinic’s Fort Lauderdale, Fla., location and the Prairie Medical Group of Kaiser Permanente in Inglewood, Calif., as well as hospitals in the northeastern United States. 
A single-vehicle crash Monday in South Colton killed Canton-Potsdam Hospital physician Andrew J. Samach, 62, at approximately 12:40 p.m. Dr. Samach's vehicle drove off the west shoulder of Route 56 near Stark Road, crashed into an embankment and then collided with a utility pole and a tree. Dr. Samach received his medical degree from the University of Vermont College of Medicine in Burlington, Vt. Prior to practicing in Potsdam, he worked with patients at Nathan Littauer Women’s Health in Amsterdam, Montgomery County.
