State police said Douglas A. Medley, 50, of Watertown, was southbound on Route 11 when he crossed over the center line and into the northbound lane of a tractor-trailer driven by Chris A. Anderson, 50, of Philadelphia.
Crash victim was former Watertown High School science teacher
He had been employed as a substitute teacher at General Brown Central School District since the fall, according to the district.

The man who was killed in a vehicle crash Wednesday on Route 11 was a Watertown High School science teacher for many years, and several of his former students praised his passion for the profession on Thursday.

An SUV was southbound on Route 11 near the Evan Mills Speedway Wednesday afternoon when the vehicle apparently sideswiped a northbound tractor trailer hauling an oversized load of gazebos.
