Sgt. Cody L. Samuels, 27, a nodal network systems operator-maintainer in the 10th Combat Aviation Brigade’s headquarters company, served in Iraq in 2007. Among his career honors were the Army Achievement Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Iraqi Campaign Medal and Global War On Terror Service Medal.
A car was driving south at around 9 a.m. between Stone Mills and LaFargeville when it departed the road and rolled over. The driver was killed, and the status of a passenger in the car is unknown at this time.
