Police ID man who died after being shot, crashing in NW Charlotte

A man has died from his injuries after police found him with gunshot wounds a short distance away from a vehicle they believe he crashed.

It happened early Thursday morning along the 4400-block of Tillman Road. Officers were called out just before 1 a.m. Thursday.

When they got on scene, officers found a man, later identified as 22-year-old Darius Antonio Fuller, with a gunshot wound a "a short distance away from a vehicle that had appeared to be involved in a motor vehicle accident."

Investigators believe Fuller was in the vehicle when it crashed.

He was rushed to Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte where he later died.

Police say this doesn't appear to be a random act of violence.
