Woman dies after crash on I-40 in Greensboro.
A 21-year-old woman died following a crash on Interstate 40 in Greensboro early Saturday morning.
Jasmine Shanice Goins of Greensboro was critically injured in the single-vehicle crash around 4:45 a.m. on the westbound side near Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. She was taken to Moses Cone Hospital, where she died.
Goins was driving a 2007 Chrysler Sebring when it hit a guardrail to the right, went airborne and rolled over between the interstate and the MLK Jr. Drive exit ramp, Greensboro police said. Goins was ejected from the car as it rolled over, police said.
The car stopped on a grassy shoulder on the north side of the exit ramp.
The crash is still under investigation. Some ramps on Highway 29 and I-40 were closed Saturday morning.
This was Greensboro's first traffic fatality in nearly two months.
