Woman killed in weekend crash on I-85 in Davidson County

The investigation into the crash continues.
Rena Little, 53, of Albemarle was killed in a crash involving a tractor-trailer on Interstate 85 just before 5 a.m. on Sunday about 3 miles southwest of Lexington. Two others, including Little's 20-year-old son, received treatment for minor injuries. Two separate rear-end crashes involved the Littles' Honda. In the first crash, a Chevrolet vehicle rear-ended the Honda, which was going 45 mph in a travel lane due to a spare tire. After coming to an uncontrolled stop in the second lane, the Honda was then hit by a tractor-trailer and dragged until it came to rest on the shoulder. Little's son had escaped from the vehicle before the second crash. The truck crashed into the guardrail and crossed all the southbound lanes before coming to a stop. The Chevrolet and tractor-trailer were traveling 65-70 mph at the time of the crash.
