29 Hurt After New York City-Bound Greyhound Bus Crashes in North Carolina: Officials

At least 29 people were hurt when a Greyhound bus headed to New York City from Atlanta crashed in North Carolina, officials say. The North Carolina Highway Patrol said that the bus ran off the road after it hit a large piece of metal in the roadway. Bus No. 1082 crashed on Interstate 85 in Thomasville, a small town in a rural stretch between Charlotte and Greensboro, at about 9:30 p.m. The Greyhound spokeswoman said that there were 48 people on the bus at the time of the crash; 29 were taken to area hospitals with varying injuries. Tuesday and was due to arrive at the Port Authority Bus Terminal at about 9:30 a.m.
