About 20 students were taken to the hospital after a school bus was involved in a crash in Winston-Salem Wednesday morning.
About 20 students were taken to the hospital after a school bus was involved in a crash in Winston-Salem Wednesday morning. The crash happened around 10 a.m. at the intersection of Murray Road and Becks Church Road. A total of 49 students were on bus 771, which serves Gibson Elementary School, at the time of the crash. Of those, 19 students complained of pain and were taken to Brenner Children's Hospital in the county EMS bus. The collision happened when a car failed to yield the right-of-way and pulled out in front of the bus, Winston-Salem police said. The driver of the car was cited with failure to yield. The school district ran on a two-hour delay Wednesday morning due to the cold.
