James Lamont Johnson Jr., 60, killed, after his pickup leaves the University Parkway roadway in Winston-Salem, and crashes into a tree.

A man died of his injuries following a single-vehicle crash in Winston-Salem Tuesday morning.

James Lamont Johnson Jr., 60, of Winston-Salem, died at the scene of the crash around 10:15 a.m. in the 3200 block of University Parkway near Reynolds Boulevard.

Johnson was driving a Ford Ranger south on University Parkway when he went off the right-side of the road and hit a tree, Winston-Salem police said. Police said they don't yet know why the Ranger went off the road.
