Police say a 14-year-old Manteo boy was critically injured after he was hit by a pickup truck, early Wednesday morning.
14-year-old hit while walking with back to traffic on causeway
Nags Head Police Chief Kevin Brinkley said the teen was walking with a pair of 14-year-old girls westbound on the right side of the outer travel lane in the 7500 block of South Virginia Dare Trail.
A 14-year-old boy was walking on South Virginia Dare Trail with two 14-year-old girls at about 5 a.m. when the boy was struck by a pickup truck. The boy was taken to a hospital in Norfolk by medical helicopter for treatment of his injuries. The accident is still under investigation.
