Officials said the driver of a Subaru Forester failed to yield the right-of-way at a stop sign on Penbroke Lane and was struck by a Dodge Ram traveling eastbound on U.S. 13. The driver of the Subaru, Istvan Makky, 78, of Fresh Meadows, N.Y., was killed in the collision. Michael Zagone of Goldsboro, the driver of the Dodge, and three children inside the vehicle, all suffered minor injuries.
