Shirley Ann James, 63, killed and Deputy Quinton Rhue, 24, injured in collision on U.S. 301 near Micro, North Carolina
The crash happened as Rhue was heading north in his marked Dodge Charger with lights and sirens activated, according to 1st Sgt. Chistopher Knox with the N.C. State Highway Patrol.
Quinton Rhue, 24, was seriously injured in the crash. Doyle confirmed Wednesday he has since been charged with misdemeanor death by vehicle and unsafe passing.
