According to State Highway Patrol Trooper Corey Blackwell, a pickup truck was traveling south on U.S. 17 near N.C. 904 when the driver swerved into the turn lane and hit a van around 8 p.m.

Blackwell said a pickup truck driven by Michael Anthony Johnson, 31, of Wilmington, was travelling south on U.S. 17 when it swerved into the left-hand turning lane, rear-ending a van. The truck reportedly pushed the van into northbound traffic, where it collided with two more cars.
