Classmates remember 12-year-old killed in crash
A vigil is set for Monday evening at the school. Organizers ask that anyone attending wear purple. Some students, teachers and parents will sing in Kimberly’s memory and candles will be lit in her honor.
The 12-year-old girl who died in a rollover crash in Carlisle is Kimberly Colyer. The accident occurred when a minivan with four occupants was heading south on Union Road at a high rate of speed and lost control. The minivan hit a railroad crossing arm at the Norfolk Southern rail crossing and rolled onto its side in the side yard of a home on Gladys Avenue. The 12-year-old girl was pronounced deceased at the crash site; one person was airlifted to Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton; and the other two occupants were transported to Atrium Medical Center in Middletown.
