Woman dies after SUV crashes into Bainbridge diner

Police initially reported that their injuries were minor, but Bainbridge Fire Chief Brian Phan said one of the women's injuries required an operation.

Two were taken by EMS and they were conscious and alert when they left the diner, according to Bainbridge Police Chief Jon Bokovitz.

Neither the driver nor his passenger, his wife, were injured. No charges will be filed against the driver, Bokovitz said. 
The hospital identified the woman as Ann Myers. They did not release her age. Ann Myers, age currently unknown, was dining at the Washington Stree Diner with two other people at about 9:30 Monday morning when Thomas Herrick, 78, crashed through the front of the building. According to police, Herrick said he accidentally stepped on the gas pedal instead of the brake. Two other women were taken to Hillcrest hospital: one for a minor hand injury and another with an elevated heart rate.
