Two Norwalk residents killed in accident
Unit two driver: Benny E. Riggs, age 75, or Columbia Avenue in Elyria, Ohio. Mr. Riggs was wearing a safety belt at the time of the crash. Mr. Riggs had to be mechanically extricated from the vehicle. He sustained incapacitating injuries. He was transported by life flight to Cleveland Metro Health Medical Center. His current condition is unknown.
Unit one was traveling eastbound on U.S. 20. Unit two was traveling westbound on U.S. 20. Unit one went left of center crossing the yellow dashed center line. Unit two swerved right to attempt to avoid the crash and was struck head on by unit one. Unit one came to rest in the westbound lane and unit two came to rest on the north side of the roadway.
