Columbus man killed in Clark County crash

Investigators said that witnesses reported Sweigard passing other cars and driving fast as the traffic slowed.

 “He was always there for everybody who needed him,” said Queen, who has three daughters and two surviving sons.
Thomas Sweigard, 53, of Columbus, was approaching a construction zone in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 70 near Route 4 in Clark County late Thursday night when he changed lanes to pass slowed traffic. Sweigard, whom witnesses reported was driving at a hight speed, rear-ended a semi, and his van was crushed under the truck. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
