Driver, bystander killed in Darke Co. crash

 “The location [of the first accident] was on a curve, and made it a bad area for everybody to be there trying to help,” Trissel said. 
A man trapped in his car after a collision and a female bystander died in Darke County Sunday night after a second vehicle crashed into them on Ohio 571 near Kniseley Road. An initial single-vehicle rollover crash was reported on Ohio 571 when a male driver of a Kia, identified as Richard L. Stephenson, 49 of Union City, Ohio, was heading westbound on Ohio 571, lost control of his vehicle, and rolled over after going off the right side of the road. Stephenson was trapped inside the crashed vehicle, and while bystanders worked to extricate him from the car, a second crash occurred when a Jeep driven by Chad Bradburn, 50, of Union City, Ind., hit a female bystander and the car with Stephenson insude. The female bystander, identified as Linda Shafer, 47 of Greenville, and Stephenson died in that second crash. Deputies say alcohol, and fog are possible factors. Bradburn was taken to Wayne Memorial Hospital for a blood alcohol sample.
