A 20-year-old student from Eastern Michigan University died over the weekend in a vehicle accident in Ohio.
Bianca Bepler’s vehicle was found partially submerged Sunday in the Otter Creek in Oregon, Ohio.
Police said in a news release that it appears the vehicle failed to stop for a flashing red traffic signal on Millard Avenue, crashed through a guardrail and “vaulted off the end of the roadway into the swampy area.” The vehicle, a black Chevrolet Impala, was found overturned east of the intersection of Millard Avenue and Otter Creek Road.
A bicyclist riding on Otter Creek Road around 10 a.m. Sunday noticed the vehicle and alerted police, the paper reported.
E.M.U.’s student newspaper, said an autopsy performed Monday showed that Bepler drowned.
Bepler had been studying sport performance and fitness and worked as a personal trainer, the paper said.
