Two people dead after Beloit crash

The HHR reportedly failed to stop at a posted stop sign and was struck by the Yukon. After being struck, the HHR then struck the box truck. The female driver of the HHR was not wearing a seat belt and was pronounced dead at the scene by a representative from the Mahoning County Coroner's Office. A male passenger in the HHR was wearing a seat belt and was transported by Sebring Fire Department ambulance to Mercy Medical Center in Canton, where he also died as a result of the crash.

State Highway Patrol releases names of couple killed in Beloit crash

According to witnesses, the gold 2006 Chevrolet HHR driven by Julie Ann Gailey was headed eastbound on Courtney Road, approaching state Route 165. She failed to stop at a posted stop sign and was struck by a silver 2007 GMC Yukon driven by Alexis Drennen, 31, of Salem, that was traveling southbound on state Route 165, approaching Courtney Road.

We lost 2 friends at once in this horrible accident. I am glad no one else was seriously hurt. It looked like an extremely violent crash because of the tremendous damage to the front of the HHR. Everything in me keeps saying this can't be possible...just heartbreaking.
