Norman Police Department officials closed down 36th Avenue Northwest between Indian Hills Road and Franklin Road after the pedestrian was fatally hit.

The preliminary investigation into the crash indicates that a Nissan Armada traveling northbound on 36th Avenue NW approaching Pioneer Street struck a pedestrian walking northbound on the east side of the roadway in dark clothing.
