Harkins suffered injuries to his wrist, ribs, and a possible head injury. He was admitted at OU Medical Center for his injuries.
At around 12:30, a car driven by Harkins, who was allegedly DUI, collided with a train near S Meridian Avenue. The crash left Rissler, a passenger in Harkins' car, partially ejected and dead at the scene, while Harkins himself sustained injuries and was taken to a hospital under police guard.
