The crash occurred at 3:32 p.m., police said, when an unknown car attempted a U-turn in front of the northbound 2002 Ford Expedition driven by Sevon L. Covington, 26, of Topeka. Covington tried to avoid the turning vehicle and over-corrected causing the SUV to slide and roll.

The patrol has said witnesses reported that the pickup was northbound Sunday afternoon on Interstate 35 near Ardmore when the driver made a U-turn through the median and headed southbound on I-35.

Partee’s Facebook page showed he was in Dallas, Texas hours before the crash. Cori Rachelle Whitsett posted on Partee’s page saying, “I know Jesus saw your beautiful heart and your up there kickin’ it with Him!!”
