They said the clerk declined his offer. An officer arrived on the scene and witnesses told him Martin was in the store.

Police make arrest in deadly crash near Pine and Yale

The report also says Martin didn't have a driver's license, proof of insurance, and had an open container inside the car.
It was shortly after 7:00pm when Narson Martin, 23, was traveling westbound on East Pine Street and ran the stop sign at the South Yale Avenue intersection. His car collided with a southbound car on South Yale Avenue, and the crash ejected one of the rear passengers of that car from the vehicle; they were pronounced dead at the scene. Two other people sustained injuries in the crash but are expected to be alright. After the crash, Narson allegedly offered a nearby store clerk $20, saying that he was about to be arrested. The clerk did not agree to the offer and Narson was eventually arrested. As he blew a 0.30 on a breathalyzer, had an open alcohol container in the vehicle, no license, and no evidence of insurance, he was jailed on those charges as well as possible charges of second-degree murder.
