Portland man accused of drunk driving, other charges after I-5 crash

Benjamin V. Reicks, 36, is accused of causing a two-car accident that injured him and Patricia Lee, 67, of Auburn, Wash. According to a news release from Oregon State Police, Reicks was heading south on the freeway about 12:30 a.m. when his 1999 Honda Civic rear-ended a 2012 Kia Soul being driven by Lee. The impact sent the Civic off the highway and into an ODOT exit sign before it landed on its top.
A Portland man has been cited on accusations of driving drunk, driving recklessly and endangering another person after a crash early Friday on Interstate 5 near Cottage Grove. Emergency responders arrived and transported drivers to Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend in Springfield. Oregon State Police said neither suffered life-threatening injuries.
