Oregon State Police deputies continue to investigate a serious injury two-vehicle crash on Interstate 5 near Sutherlin Tuesday night. Shortly before 9 p.m., a 1985 Dodge pickup, driven by 30-year-old Joseph Reitmeier, of Medford, was northbound on Interstate 5 near milepost 138 when its right rear tire blew out, said Lt. After coming to a stop, the pickup was facing southbound in the northbound lane and was struck nearly head-on by a 2009 Chevrolet Aveo driven by Christina Daniels, 40, of Drain. The two vehicles came to rest blocking the northbound lanes. Daniels was taken by ambulance to Mercy Medical Center with serious injuries. Reitmeier did not require hospital transport, Hastings said.
