A Grants Pass man who died in a Southern Oregon motorcycle crash on Saturday has been identified as James William Osborne. Oregon State Police say Osborne, 47, was driving north on U.S. 199 alongside his brother, who was driving a separate motorcycle. At about 5:30 p.m., the pair came upon a curve at milepost 25 near Sauers Flat in Josephine County. James Osborne lost control of his 2008 Suzuki, crossed into the oncoming traffic lane, sideswiped a car, and struck a tree stump, police said. Troopers believe excessive speed may have factored into the crash. Police said witnesses performed CPR until emergency responders arrived, but Osborne was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the car was not injured.
