Oregon State Police said a southern Oregon man and his sister-in-law were killed and his brother was seriously injured when their Jeep Cherokee was hit by a freight train at a marked rail crossing south of Klamath Falls.

MacKenzie Conway, 33, was driving a 1995 Jeep Cherokee north along a gravel road parallel to the railroad tracks near U.S. 97 around 10:50 a.m., Oregon State Police said.
The driver's brother, Nicholas Conway, 27, and Nicholas' wife, Kella Conway, 25, were passengers in the SUV when MacKenzie Conway tried to cross the train tracks at a marked railroad crossing near milepost 281, police said.
A northbound freight train plowed into the Jeep, sending the SUV off the tracks and rolling before it came to a rest. Kella Conway and Nicholas Conway were ejected from vehicle.
MacKenzie Conway and Kella Conway both died at the scene.
Nicholas Conway sustained serious injuries, but was able to walk across Highway 97 to the Midland Family Market to seek help, police said. He was later transported to Sky Lakes Medical Center.
Oregon State Police are continuing the investigation.
