Matthew Childress, 32, killed and Christine Schneible, 32, seriously injured after SUV strikes dump truck on Highway 99 in Yamhill County, OR

It was just after 10:00am when Childress was driving on westbound Highway 99, and crossed over the center line where he hit a dump truck driven by Raul Gutierrez-Torres, 43, he then exited the roadway to the right and his car came to rest upside-down in a ditch. Childress was not wearing a seat belt and ended up partially ejected from the vehicle; he was pronounced dead at the scene. Christine Schneible, 32, a passenger in Childress' car, sustained serious injuries and was hospitalized. Gutierrez-Torres was uninjured.
